I'm looking forward to your thoughts on No. 2. One of the last classes I ever taught was a political theory class focusing on ideology formation. The point was to provide a framework for analyzing ideology and give them the space to create their own way of thinking politically. The final paper was, basically, an outline of each student's ideology/manifesto. Because of what I learned teaching that class (and other reasons), I find this subject and the reporting and research you've linked to fascinating to the extreme. Can't wait for your future posts to read more about where your research and reading have led you on the subject.
